My former Congressman, Dennis Kucinich, was one such man of the working class. He told stories about how he and his mom had to live in a car for awhile, when he was growing up. He fought tooth and nail for his less affluent constituents, and refused to be bought by any corporation. Naturally, the DNC withdrew support for him during a re-election bid, after he'd served several terms with no ties to any big donors.
I think perhaps Sherrod Brown, also from Ohio, is a similar figure. Don’t know much about his history but he’s been a righteous representative.
